The Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe is set to expand with its sixth installment, War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji. Scheduled for release on August 14, 2025, the film promises to deliver high-octane action and intense drama. 

🔥 Star-Studded Cast

Hrithik Roshan returns as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, reprising his role from the 2019 blockbuster War.

N.T. Rama Rao Jr. (Jr NTR) makes his Bollywood debut, reportedly portraying the antagonist, setting the stage for a thrilling face-off.

Kiara Advani joins the ensemble cast, adding depth to the narrative.

Ashutosh Rana reprises his role as Colonel Sunil Luthra.

Anil Kapoor is also part of the cast, further elevating the film's star power.

War 2 boasts an international production scale, with shooting locations spanning Mumbai, Salamanca, Abu Dhabi, Kashmir, and Italy. The film's production involved a rigorous 150-day shooting schedule across five countries, featuring six elaborate action sequences.

The film's music is composed by Pritam, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara. A notable highlight is a grand dance-off sequence featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, choreographed with over 500 dancers, adding a vibrant musical element to the action-packed narrative.  

🎬 Production Insights

Director Ayan Mukerji, known for his work on Brahmastra, steps into the action genre with War 2. Reports suggest that Mukerji is being compensated ₹32 crores for his directorial role, making him one of the highest-paid directors in the YRF camp.
